Provides information on intumescent coatings, off-site application methods and their use, fire resistant design and background information relating to the specific requirements of off-site application of thin film intumescent coatings. The Model Specification provides clients and specifiers with the necessary information to facilitate the adoption and specification of these coatings and their off-site application, and will help to achieve greater uniformity in contract specifications that are issued with tender and contract documents.
Previously published by the Steel Construction Institute as Publication P 160, but is now included as an ASFP Technical Guidance Document, it is unchanged from the last version published by SCI and is still current industry guidance. Under review by ASFP Technical Committee in conjunction with TGD 11.
